IS THIS THE YEAR OF THE ELECTRIC GRILL?

Yes... we think it is.

Hearth & Home magazine, official publication of the Hearth, Barbecue and Patio industry asked its readers in a recent issue if this is the year of the outdoor electric grill. For the past 10 years, manufacturers have been struggling to feed the market with an outdoor grill that offered a flameless and smokeless option. In 2007, electric grill sales remained stagnant, which led to the electric grill category representing only two percent of total grill sales. However, we believe that change is on the horizon (and you thought election jargon was over!)

Fuego recently launched the 02 Electric and is reaching a niche category of high rise dwellers where open flames are prohibited. Hearth & Home reported that more than 30 percent of U.S. consumers live in apartments, condos or town homes, which may restrict the use of gas and charcoal grills. This presents a huge opportunity to provide innovative new products with advanced features, such as the 02 Electric's cast iron grilling grate, heat reflector plate to achieve cooking temperatures up to 700 degrees Fahrenheit and ability to plug into a 110-volt outlet.

In addition to leaving a small physical footprint, electric grills also release zero pollutants into the air when being burned, consume half the energy than gas grills and are typically more cost-effective.

And, one of our favorite features of the new 02 Electric for high rise living, is that they are 'neighbor-friendly.' The cast iron grill grate and custom electric element provides maximum heat while eliminating grease flare-ups, which makes it flameless and virtually smokeless. So while your neighbors may be able to smell the juicy steaks you're grilling - they won't be bothered by the smoke and soot from the grill.
